Ravenol UK: A Trusted Partner of Bennett Racing Since 2012

We’ve been working with Ravenol UK since 2012, and to this day, they remain one of our most valuable technical partners. It’s easy to assume oil is just oil, but once you start dealing with 4,000+ horsepower, planetary gearboxes, and heat-soaked rear ends, you quickly realise that not all lubricants are created equal.



What sets Ravenol apart is the level of technical input and support they provide. They’ve worked closely with us over the years to help select the right products for each part of the car, from fluid viscosity to flashpoint and film strength - making sure everything we use is matched to the demands of our setup.

One of the key things that makes Ravenol different is their use of star-shaped polymer structures in their formulations. Most oils use linear polymers, which tend to break down under extreme load. These star-shaped polymers offer far better shear stability, meaning the oil holds its viscosity when it really counts, exactly what you want when trying to keep a gearbox or diff alive after a full-power pass!

What We’re Using:

We use a fair bit of Ravenol product in the car (and around it), so here are a few standouts that have become essentials for us:


Ravenol Copper Paste (Anti-Seize) - It’s a simple one, but crucial. We use Ravenol Copper Paste everywhere threads or surfaces are exposed to heat and load — especially around the driveline and brakes. It stops parts from binding, seizing or corroding, and makes everything much easier to work with between runs.


Ravenol Brake Cleaner - Let’s be honest, no garage can survive without brake cleaner. Ravenol’s version does exactly what you need: it strips off grime, dries quickly, and leaves no mess. We go through a lot of it.


Ravenol ATF Dexron VI – Lenco Gearbox - Now for something a bit more serious. Our Lenco 3-speed gearbox runs on a planetary gear system, with sun and planet gears managing brutal torque under launch and through the pass. Transmission fluid plays a big role in how well that system works, so we don’t take chances. Ravenol’s Dexron VI ATF is what we run, and it wasn’t just a guess - they helped us select the right spec for our setup based on load, heat, and how the fluid behaves under pressure.


Ravenol 75W-140 Racing Gear Oil – Rear End - The rear end works hard — really hard. We only use Ravenol’s USVO 75W-140 Racing Gear Oil in the diff. It’s the only oil we’ve found that holds up consistently without breaking down or overheating.


Ravenol Racing Engine Oil – SAE 50 - Finally, the engine oil. We use a straight 50 weight Ravenol racing oil, which was chosen specifically with their input based on what the motor needs during launch, peak power, and shutdown. It stays stable under heat, doesn’t shear down, and gives us consistent pressure throughout the run.
