Lenny Bennett - Happy heavenly 100th birthday X

Bennett Racing paid tribute to patriarch Lenny Bennett who passed away on 12th March 2012 at the age of 86.

He taught us all true engineering, getting every last ounce of horsepower from a part, repairing and not throwing away, making and not buying.

Lenny will be remembered by racers and the like from years past, as he was the Crew Chief of the Phantasm Ford Pop which we very successfully raced in the 1980s.

A truly great man, very dear to us all, who will be greatly missed.

Weekend of goodbyes 🥹

First up, the 'Bantam' chassis. Enjoy Keith.

Next up, our valve grinder, this quite literally ground the valves on this car... had it a good while.

And lastly, bitter sweet this one, yes it's just a video of a lathe, but it is more than that. We recently sold this lathe as we just didn't use it much anymore, so we're glad it's going to a good home.

But, this was the lathe I learnt on... the lathe my grandad spent hours teaching me, means alot. First part I made on this was a drift for my old man when I was 8. As said, glad it will be used, but also sad to see it go too.
